Latrobe Fertiliser Holdings Limited was incorporated in June 2009. A result of the demerger between Australian Energy Company and Latrobe Fertilisers Limited.

Australian Energy Company Limited was formed to deploy proven coal gasification technologies to deliver value added commodities.

The coal gasification process delivers a separate stream of CO2 which can be captured and stored.
