Allan Blood

Executive Chairman

Allan Blood was the founder and Chairman of Australian Power & Energy Limited (APEL), now Monash Energy Limited. APEL was formed in 1998 to develop the Victorian Power & Liquids Project, the AU$5 billion coal to gas to liquids and power project. Following the takeover by Anglo in 2004 Mr Blood formed AEC and initiated the company’s current undertaking.

Mr. Blood has both domestic and international project development experience. Previous roles include Managing Director of Value Engineering Australia, Executive Chairman of the Bulgarian-Australian Manganese Company and Executive Chairman of Schefferville Iron & Minerals Inc in Canada.

George Lavrin

George Lavrin is a chemical engineer with more than thirty years experience in commodity trading. He was previously CEO and MD of the Australian operations of Pechiney World Trade and then head of Pechiney’s global world trade activities based in ZUG, Switzerland. Mr. Lavrin was also an executive with Comalco Limited.

Evan Edwards has extensive financial experience gained in a range of senior corporate finance positions over the past thirty years.

These include founding Director and Chief Financial Officer of APEL, Director Corporate Finance for Sanwa Property Development Pty Ltd and Director of Ellenbrook Joint Venture Management.

Professor Chris Fell

AM, Non-Executive Director

Professor Fell has held several academic posts. As a member of the Prime Minister’s Science, Engineering and Innovation Council he chaired the Beyond Kyoto action paper on greenhouse emissions and climate change and the Knowledge and Innovation Reforms.

He is a Director of the Australian National Fabrication Facility Limited and chairs the Implementation Group of the Science Industry Action Agenda.

Dr Michael Dalling

OAM, Non-Executive Director

Dr Michael Dalling is a biologist with a strong interest in agroscience and economics. Previous roles include Group General Manager of listed agricultural chemical group Nufarm Ltd, and Managing Director of the Strategic Industry Research Foundation, a joint initiative of the Victorian Government and the CSIRO.
